Brandy Melville Warehouse Sale

I wanted to share my experience at the Brandy Melville Warehouse Sale. I went to this sale last week, March 8, 2014. This would be my fourth time going which now that I think about it, sounds pretty crazy. The third time I went was very unsuccessful. A lot of girls showed up to the sale, and at least 300 people didn't even get in, including me (who showed up about 3 hours early). This time around I didn't feel like driving or waking up early. We figured that if we don't get in we can still make the best of it in downtown. My friend and I were both down to take the bus to Downtown LA which was about a 45 minute ride. We had to transfer once when we got to downtown which was a little sketch, but we're safe! We got to the line at around 11 AM and it looked daunting, but we stood in line anyways. We waited a good four hours, and we ended up being the last group to get in. Because we were the last group, everything at the sale was set to $5. Triangle bras and hair accessories were FREE! Inside the warehouse, there are just a lot of boxes and clothes all over the place. There were a few items that I kept seeing over and over again, but I took the time to look through all the boxes and picked up some pieces that were different, things that I liked. After I was done, I went to the side and sorted everything that I wanted to keep and everything I didn't want. I made one more round around all of the boxes and asked people for there "no" pile. Scavenging through people's no pile turned out to be very successful for me. I ended up only spending $40 which is a lot less than what I usually spend (around $100), but I have never been happier with all of my purchases. All in all, I thought it was worth it because I loved everything that I bought, but I definitely didn't find everything I was looking for. I wanted to find a scarf for my mom because she loves their scarves. I found none of the dresses I was looking for either.

Here is everything I bought except for one basic baseball tee that has blue sleeves (currently in the wash).

I finally found a flannel that I love. I have been to thrift stores and I wondered where all of the cute flannels were. Brandy Melville bought all of them, literally. They buy ALL of the cute flannels, so you're forced to pay them $35 for a cute worn in one. Fortunately, I found one at the sale, and I, of course, paid only $5 for it! The dark piece to the right of it is just a blue sweater that retailed for $50!

Here are all of the free triangle bras that I got. I love triangle bras. I'm a true follower in the "Ban the Bra" movement.

Then, I got all of the free hair accessories. I just grabbed a handful for my friends. There were hair ties with bows on them and the headbands with the wire in them. I love the hair ties, but I don't think I can rock the headbands.

It has only been one week, and I have worn almost all my new clothes which is pretty sad. Here are some outfits that I wore:

Denim shirt (Primark), White tank (A&F), Shorts (Brandy), Booties (Steve Madden)

Flannel (Brandy), Tank (American Apparel), Shorts (Free People), Sperry Topsiders

Let me know if you have ANY questions; I would be happy to talk to you guys.

TIPS:

  • Go as early as possible (camp out if you want to be first just be safe)
  • Bring books, phone, headphones, games
  • Go with as many friends as possible
  • Once in the sale, ask for people's "no" pile
  • Check for snags, rips, holes
  • Make sure they take off all security tags
  • Don't buy it just because it's cheap
  • Pick up anything that is remotely cute (maybe your friends will like it)
  • Pick up anything that is unique AT the sale (there are a lot of the same things, so if you see something different, snatch it!)
  • When you're done, go to the side with your friends and sort everything you want to keep
